‘The Voice UK’ rankings: Is Karis Thomas, Joe Woolford, or Clark Carmody tops from Team Rita Ora?
With the first live show for “The Voice UK” coming up this weekend, now is the time for us to get to what is a big part of the fun for us: Ranking the contestants! Actually know who all of them are now after spending so much time in icebreaker-mode this season, which is a part of what happens when you bum-rush so many different people on the stage in a short period of time.
Since this show likes to keep all coaches involved on the show as long as possible, we’re going to ranking each contestant by team. With that, check back soon for our take on Team Tom Jones, Team Ricky Wilson, and Team Will.i.am. At the moment, we’re focusing on Team Rita. (You’ll be able to see those other rankings at the link here.)
3. Clark Carmody – The thing with the average television viewer is recency bias. They are going to remember the most-recent performance perhaps more than almost any other that you do. Therefore, Clark may struggle coming off of his worst performance on the show in “Take Me to Church.” Of voters remember more of what he did during the auditions and the battle rounds, he has a shot.
2. Joe Woolford – This is a guy who takes big chances in his performances. After all, we’ve seen him cover everything from Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” to “Hey Ya!” within just a span of several episodes. We haven’t felt the emotion from him just yet, but he has the creativity really needed to make it to the final.
1. Karis Thomas – After “True Colors,” to us there is no doubting that Karis should be the favorite of Team Rita. She’s got a rich, emotional voice that tells a story. It is a heck of a lot harder to have a real “moment” on this show compared to others, given the bright lights and the almost assembly line sort of structure that the show has. She pulled it off in the knockouts.
