‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ gets big with new promotional campaign
There is no denying that CBS has a heck of a lot invested in James Corden. He was a relative unknown for American audiences when the network tapped him to be the new host of “The Late Late Show.” It’s a big risk, and this is a network not really known for taking them. He is following up Craig Ferguson, and this is a guy extremely well-known for having both a loyal and passionate fan base who will do almost anything for him.
In the video below, you can see more exactly of what James is doing at the moment in order to promote it. This includes hanging out in front of a giant billboard, and screaming at people in the streets of Los Angeles. Given rush hour traffic and the timing of this ad, he may have been spending hours screaming at the same exact people! He does have a natural sense of humor and energy about it, and this is something that the show will have to play up. We don’t really think that he is a straightforward comedian by any means; he’s more of an improv / sketch guy, and he’ll have to find some other ways to stand out.
We’re going to be checking out the show next week, mostly so that we can really start to see just if the series can actually live up to expectations and draw big ratings right out of the gate. This could be a series that takes some time to find itself, but we ultimately hope that people give him a chance.
