‘American Idol XIV’ results: Was Jax, Qaasim Middleton, or Adanna Duru eliminated?

American Idol -As with every other episode of “American Idol,” tonight’s episode was intense when we got to the final fifteen minutes. After all, we had two singers remaining who really had no business being there: Jax and Qaasim Middleton. While they’ve both had some struggles over the past few weeks, Daniel Seavey is the obvious person who needs to go home.

However, he was saved at the start of the show, and there was no real drama there. Qaasim was actually the person in danger of going home after all of the results were announced by Ryan Seacrest. He’s not the best singer in the world, but he is such a great entertainer that we were very bummed about the prospect of losing him tonight.

After Jax performed, we then turned to the question of the night: Was Qaasim really worth the save? After watching the performance, we really didn’t think he would get it. While he did show off a ton of theatricality in “Come Together,” he also had a few too many faces. If you were going to allow Sarina-Joi Crowe to go home last week after just one bad performance, would you really want to use it here?

As it turns out, the answer to this was “yes,” and Qaasim was given the big save of the season! We’re happy for him, but the danger that comes with using it this early is that it complicates things the rest of the season. Let’s say, for example, that someone like a Clark Beckham is about to go home, and you cannot do anything about it.
