‘The Blacklist’ season 2, episode 16 preview: The search for Ryan Eggold’s Tom Keen

Thursday night marks the next new episode of “The Blacklist,” and while we tend to avoid internet-hyperbole as much as we possibly can, there is no denying to us that this will be one of the biggest installments of the entire season. How else could you describe something where Tom Keen effectively is sought out by Reddington in order to save his ex-wife from trouble?

This is the first time all series that the episode title is named after a series regular in “Tom Keen,” and there is a major reason for it. The question that remains here is this: Is Ryan Eggold’s character really going to be willing to travel all the way back to America and stop his present mission, solely to ensure that Liz does not end up behind bars? You have to look at some of the things that are currently weighing on his mind.

1. This is a woman who held him captive for months and interrogated him about what he knows. Basically, this is far from romantic behavior, and not typically the sort of thing that would be encouraging for someone to want to go and help them out.

2. Tom also clearly has his own plans and desired endgame. Would helping out Liz do something to interrupt this process in any way? We’re still not entirely sure about that.

By the end of this episode, you may not have every answer; however, you still should have a pretty good idea as to whether or not Tom is going to come back. The rest will be up in the air for a little while.
