‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 17 spoilers: Annie Wersching on complicated Lily
For those of you who have been rather anxious to see where “The Vampire Diaries” goes next with the Lily Salvatore character, we come bearing at least some great news: You will not be waiting for long! Thursday night’s new episode marks a chance to really dive headfirst into the world of this character, and you are going to get a chance to get some answers to a variety of questions … including whether or not there is a way to stop her from being a ripper.
As sinister as she is at the end of the day, you have to remember here that she was at one point a caring mother. This is something that Annie Wersching, who plays the character, described to TV Guide while also explaining what makes her in particular such an interesting addition to the show:
“She the most intense vampire you can find in the world of Mystic Falls … Not only is she not the mother they remember, but it’s hard for her to even remember that mother she was. All three of them have quite a journey to go through in order to get back to a mother-son bonding scenario.”
If there is something that will complicate everything even further, it is that Stefan decided on this past episode to turn off his own humanity. In other words, poor Damon has his work cut out for him … and if you look at our history, there are not many times we ever find ourselves saying “poor Damon.” This guy typically has things figured out.
