‘The Flash’ spoilers: Katie Cassidy cameo, Emily Kinney’s debut, more in new trailer

The CW certainly deserves a little applause right now over how open they are being about a couple of their shows. As a matter of fact, we understand if there are some other there wondering if they are maybe even too open. After all, the trailer for the rest of “The Flash” season 1, which was unveiled over the weekend at PaleyFest but now available for everyone to view, has a whole lot going on within it.

Let’s start here first and foremost with what to us is the biggest surprise: Eddie Thawne going completely ballistic. While we know in the comics that he is hardly a good guy, we haven’t seen much of that narrative on the show. Could Iris having feelings for Barry really be what sets him over the edge to that level? It’s feasible we suppose, but not entirely likely just yet. This is something that requires some additional explanation.

As for the rest of the trailer, it’s really quite fun! There are many major cameos in here of some upcoming visitors, including Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) all stopping by. Also, you have your first real look in here at Emily Kinney as the Bug-Eyed Bandit. She is a rival for Felicity in the hacking world, and she could not look more different from Beth Greene unless she dyed her hair or something.

This trailer is a heck of a lot of fun, and it reminds us that we are building to something enormous when it comes to Barry Allen, Harrison Wells, and the fight for the future (and the past). The show returns with “Out of Time” come Tuesday night.
