‘Empire’ finale spoilers: Should Lucious be concerned for his future?

When you are the king, you really have to watch for just about everyone wanting to seize your throne. This is something that Lucious should really be well aware of on “Empire” at this point, and it could end up becoming a major part of the season 1 finale on Wednesday night based on what we’ve now learned.

According to a new report coming in now from TV Guide, there are at least two people close to Terence Howard’s character who are going to be plotting some sort of vengeance against the family patriarch, and part of the fun this season is going to be seeing just who these people are exactly. One safe guess as to who will not end up being a traitor to him, at least in the early going, is Jamal. The last we heard, he and Lucious are going to actually start to improve things a little bit.

One thing that we know about Lucious, though, is that he thrives when he has power. Whatever happens to him, we hope that it doesn’t keep him from Empire Entertainment for long. This show is infinitely better when this guy feels like he’s in control; maybe there is value in taking him down a few notches in the finale, but you want to see him better at some point in season 2. More drama comes that way.
