‘The Amazing Race 26’ episode 4 review: Did Harley & Jonathan stage a comeback?

Amazing Race -Last week, Harley & Jonathan did everything that they could to stick around on “The Amazing Race,” but a bad flight ultimately doomed them in, and caused them to fall all the way to last place. This meant that they had an uphill battle tonight in Thailand.

Unfortunately for them, there was just not enough time in the day. These guys really did their best, but the New Kid on the Block and his other half were forced to say goodbye tonight. They made a good effort, but they were just a victim of some misfortune the previous leg. It’s hard to really come back from something like that. On the flip side, we know that purists will appreciate that all of the remaining teams were all ones who have never finished in last place.

You know you have a bizarre leg of the race when one of the hardest part of the entire leg was simply figuring out that “Metal Castle” was actually a temple that they needed to find. Tyler & Laura started in first after the repair-themed Roadblock, but they slipped a few spots because of bad directions. Meanwhile, Kurt & Bergen were smart enough to figure out that it would be helpful to get a translation ahead of time, and they moved forward to first.

We’re not going to say that there was ever really any drama in terms of the performance order; it was instead mostly about teams fighting. Jelani & Jenny clashed over the treatment of Matt & Ashley; meanwhile, Blair & Hayley just plan don’t seem to like each other at all. A decent episode, but far from the best. Grade: B-.
