‘Suits’ season 4 finale: Show boss on big Harvey – Donna moment
Are we closer to Harvey and Donna actually becoming a couple on “Suits“? That is probably not as easy a question to answer as you would probably hope for it to be. While Harvey did share some level of affection to her during this past episode of the show, was this meant to be him saying that he was head over heels in love with her? Not necessarily.
After some out there believed his big moment last week to be him putting all the cards on the table, this is not the only interpretation of it. Explaining this, and some other moments from the past between the two, show creator Aaron Korsh said the following to TVLine:
“I will say I don’t view it as Harvey’s confession. Different people are viewing it in different ways. There was a moment [in last week’s scene where] they might have slept together. They had a moment in there. Nothing happened. Donna says, ‘Why?’ Harvey says, ‘You know why,’ meaning he doesn’t want to take it to that other level. Harvey was jealous of Stephen, and he said, ‘Just because I don’t want a relationship with you doesn’t mean I can’t be jealous of another guy with you.’ So Harvey wasn’t confessing his deep-seeded love to Donna, in my opinion.”
The problem Harvey faces is that he cannot necessarily have it both ways forever. He’s going to have to figure this out eventually, since he cannot hold Donna hostage in perpetuity without expecting her to be with someone else. Sooner or later, these two will hit a true tipping point. Whether or not this happens in the finale remains to be seen.
