‘American Horror Story’ season 5: Lady Gaga speaks further about appearance
We did not expect to get much in the way of scoop on “American Horror Story” season 5 before we ended up seeing the cast and crew at PaleyFest this year. Then, Lady Gaga came around, and completely flipped everything on its head with her announcement that she would be stopping by. Not only that, but she confirmed that the next season will be “American Horror Story: Hotel.” This is not the most descriptive name ever for a season, but that does not change our excitement level in the slightest.
In a new statement on her Twitter account this week, the entertainer made it clear just how excited she is to be a part of the cast this season. We’re still very much surprised that this happened at all, and we’d like to know how it came about. Did Gaga approach them, or did Ryan Murphy and company create a role and pitch it to her? It’s hard to envision the latter, mostly because it is not easy to envision a situation in which they expected her saying “yes” given her busy schedule.
This new season is going to premiere in October, so there is still plenty of time to figure out who else is going to be joining her in the series. Maybe some of this will be made a little more clear at PaleyFest a little later this month, since that space was when both Kathy Bates and Michael Chiklis were both announced as cast members. Now, we’re left wondering whether or not either one of them will be a part of the show this time.
One thing is for certain: While the future of Jessica Lange on the show is unclear, FX and Murphy are determined to ensure that this remains headline-grabbing TV.
