‘Silicon Valley’ season 2 video: Cast, creators talk story ahead
We made it no secret to us that “Silicon Valley” season 1 was a revelation, and a much-needed breath of fresh air. The entire conceit of the show worked so well, mostly because there are not exactly a whole lot of other shows out there that really make it a mission to relentlessly mock the tech culture that exists in America. Trust us: It needs to be mocked.
One of the real questions that you need to ask going into season 2 is simple: How much has really changed for the folks behind Pied Piper? While they may have impressed with the purity of their compression, that does not mean that they know their next move. It will be almost overwhelming for them at first, based on what the show’s cast and creators say in the video below. They will have offers coming in from almost anywhere and everywhere, with each person believing that they can offer something more to the brand.
With all of this being said, we’re still a long ways from seeing these characters becoming millionaires. We’re not even sure that some of them should. (It terrifies us to think of what Erlich could do with millions of free cash.) This should be a season stuffed full of absurdity, of struggle, and of perfect satire of the commodity-based need structure of this particular part of America.
Oh, and there will probably be some more glorious rants about certain parts of the male anatomy as a means to solve a problem … or at least we hope. The new season starts Sunday, April 12 following the premiere of “Game of Thrones.”
