Oscars 2015: Adam Levine, Rita Ora, Common, John Legend, more performance takes
Welcome to our Oscar performance article! This is going to be where we keep track of some of the performances that take place throughout the evening. These performances are meant to be for nominated songs, and most of the time, they produce big moments. Granted, every now and then these big moments are superseded by John Travolta calling Idina Menzel “Adele Dazeem.” Yep, we still haven’t gotten over that, and we’re not quite sure that we ever will.
Be sure to check back throughout the night, as we’re going to have more updates!
Adam Levine, “Lost Stars” – Was this billed as an Adam performance of Maroon 5 performance? We think Maroon 5, but he was thrown more into the spotlight because he was in “Begin Again.” Still, a good performance of a song we’ve heard many times.
Tegan & Sara, with the Lonely Island, “Everything Is Awesome” – This was the “Lego Movie’s” punishment for not getting the Best Animated Movie nod.
Tim McGraw, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” – Powerful stuff, and knowing the story from the Glen Campbell documentary makes it even more so.
Rita Ora, “Grateful” – There’s not too much notable about this performance, but it was nice to hear that Rita Ora can really sing.
Common and John Legend, “Glory” – You knew that this was going to be powerful. It had to be. Everything that we’ve seen from these two so far across the awards cycle has been. The visual in this particular iteration was particularly moving. We’re thrilled that this was the winner.
As always, share what you think about some of these performers now with a comment!
