‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’s’ first guests will be Tom Hanks, Kerry Washington, more
Well, you have to give “The Late Late Show with James Corden” credit for bringing out the big guns straight from the get-go. As the show announced on Twitter this week, Tom Hanks is set to be the first-ever guest to sit down for an interview. Later in the week, the likes of Kerry Washington, Kevin Hart, and Will Ferrell are also going to be stopping by.
This is a pretty impressive lineup for the first week, but to us, this is about much more than just getting a good group of people to show up to the show. Instead, the real achievement here is that you have people who we tend to think of as jovial and good interviews. We have no clue how Corden will be in his first week as host. While he may be funny, it is hard to gauge his interviewing skills based on what little we’ve seen. These are all people who can carry on a conversation, especially someone like Hanks who is so natural almost every second of the day.
Corden of course also has the challenge of following up a guy in Craig Ferguson who is basically as natural as natural can be. There are very few people out there who made a show their own quite like he did.
This show will launch on March 23, and just a few months later, James will find himself the elder statesman of CBS’ late-night lineup. After all, David Letterman is going to be signing off in May, and Stephen Colbert will not be taking his place as the most of “The Late Show” until September.
