‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5, episode 14 review: Did Angela find a job?

On the last episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” we learned that Vince bought a bar as part of his retirement plan (retired and still working that is), but is he really up to the task of owning a bar?

On this week’s episode we see Vince getting his new bar together, trying to figure out what songs to play on the jukebox and if he needs a theme or not. Jane and Maura have their opinions (apparently Maura is all about a bar that plays all Josh Groban all the time), but Vince is going to do what he wants.

If you thought the storyline about Angela looking for a job is over, well you’ll be disappointed to know that it’s not. She is still struggling to find a job and is blaming it all on her age, but is that really the problem or is it something else? While Vince is out of the bar, Angela finds herself filling in as a bartender and is helping a lot of the customers that come in with their personal problems.  When some customers come in looking for her, Vince decides to hire her as the bartender and the job hunt is over.

Also there was a leak in the department – Chip has been leaking information on the cases to his cousin to help his local crime blog but it’s getting out to the press and compromising the crime scenes. Jane ends up getting Chip fired and he’s thankful because he needed the kick in the pants to pursue his real dream: Being a comic book artist and creating a story all about Jane being a vigilante.

There were some bright spots in this episode, but we have to be honest when we say we were starting to tire of the Angela job hunt storyline, so we are glad that it’s wrapped up now. Seeing Jane as a vigilante in comic book form – so much fun! Episode grade: C+
