‘The Mentalist’ series finale spoilers: Robin Tunney, cast look at Jane and Lisbon’s future

Tonight, you are going to see “The Mentalist” finally come to a close after seven seasons with a series finale that could serve to tie everything together. Not only that, but Jane and Lisbon are going to be married! This is an ending that we didn’t think we would get a year ago, but we are so very happy to have now. Fans deserve the closure for the characters after everything that they’ve been through.

So what comes after the two characters say “I do” and prepare for their future together? There is no clear answer to that right now, but that what makes the video below fun to watch! There, you can see Robin Tunney, Rockmond Dunbar, Tim Kang, Joe Adler, and even Josie Loren (despite her character being dead) all talking about where they’d like to see the relationship go. Sadly, there’s nothing in her specifically from Simon Baker. Tunney’s answer is specifically fun, especially since it plays into the sort of worldly sensibility that we feel that Jane has.

This is not a series finale that we feel is out to surprise, shock, or devastate you. Instead, the theme here seems to be strictly just about figuring out how they can make you smile, and pay off the past seven years of good television. Sometimes, we want a show that ends like “The Sopranos” or “Sons of Anarchy.” This is not that show. We’ve already see Jane experience tragedy, and he is not a bad person deserving a bad ending.
