‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Do Jade Roper’s photos, Carly Waddell’s airtime hurt chances?
Tonight, we are going to have yet another opportunity to see the six remaining women on “The Bachelor” compete, but they are actually battling for more than just winning the heart of Chris Soules. There is actually a spot up for grabs right now on “The Bachelorette”!
Before we posted anything else, we thought we’d share the results of the poll we posted on CarterMatt yesterday. Carly Waddell was the leading vote recipient with almost 39%, and that should be a sign that she is the people’s champion. However, is she getting enough screen time? We worry, especially since most of her time Sunday night with Chris was spent with her talking more about Britt Nilsson than her actual relationship with him. She is still our personal pick, but we feel like this is probably still a longshot.
As for some other contenders, Kaitlyn Bristowe came in second place in the poll with around 23% of the vote, while Becca Tilley had almost 20% and Britt had just under 10%. The latter is particularly interesting, given that she was probably the consensus pick after the premiere if she did not end up winning the season. (ABC gave the results of the upcoming Rose Ceremony away already.)
What is worth noting is that Whitney Bischoff and Jade Roper both have slightly more than 2% of the vote. With Whitney, we imagine that the total is low either due to people not loving the idea of her as a lead, or a feeling that she is the favorite to win Chris’ season right now. As for Jade, it’s probably the magazine photos. What we wonder here, though, is this: Had most diehard fans not known about this before the season even started, would perception of Jade be any different? Would we sympathize with her more? She has received a pretty good edit on TV, so it’s an interesting question.
