‘The X Factor’ alum Fifth Harmony perform ‘Sledgehammer’ on ‘The Talk’

Fifth Harmony -Is it fair to say that Fifth Harmony is rather busy at the moment? We would certainly say so. They have a new album in “Reflections” that they are trying to promote, and this took them to “The Talk” this week for a performance of “Sledgehammer.”

The former “X Factor” stars should be feeling rather proud about the success of this song, and for a variety of different reasons. After all, this was a song that made it into the top 25 pop songs in the country, which is the best feat for any former star from the American version of the singing show. Since then, they have had a real challenge of basically having to bell self-starters in many ways. They haven’t been able to rely on a canceled singing show for support, and instead need their label and their fans to do a little more of the heavy lifting. While it was easy a decade ago to be on TV and become a big-name, that doesn’t work that way now. The market is far more saturated.

Overall, it will be interesting to see how this album fares over the weeks ahead, and also what happens for the women of this group as they get a few years deeper into their career. You have to remember here that this album was very different than their “Better Together” EP, and there could be even more evolution coming in the future.

For now, though, our suggestion is to just watch the video and enjoy.
