‘Gotham’ spoilers: The Joker story and hints before the finale

Remember the conversation that suggested that “Gotham” could be waiting for a while before giving you anything when it comes to the Joker? Well, it appears as though we are going to get a chance to actually find out something about this character this season, after all!

So why this sudden change? As creator Bruno Heller tells TV Guide, a good percentage of the reason why is simply because he feels like nobody really wants to wait before getting to the good stuff anymore:

“We’ve said you’re going to be waiting a bit longer for it, but this is America — nobody wants to wait … So, we will scratch the surface of that story, yes. But just scratch it — a little tap on the door.”

Personally, we are very concerned about this idea. While we joke like the direction that “Gotham” is going, we do feel like the Joker is such an iconic character that it has to be done right. We would rather wait until later to see him, since it feels almost strange that so many iconic villains would all be around the city while Bruce Wayne is growing up.

Who knows, though? “A little tap on the door” could mean a variety of different things, and it does not even mean that we are going to see an actor in this role just yet. Maybe it will be like something akin to the end of “Batman Begins.” Time will tell.
