‘The Fall’ season 3: While you wait, see Jamie Dornan’s ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Super Bowl spot
Let’s start this article off with some not-so-great news for fans of the series “The Fall“: There is still no word on the series’ future. Also, there is no word on whether or not Jamie Dornan would be a part of it.
It is interesting in a way that “Fifty Shades of Grey” could have such an impact on his future of the show, in addition to the decisions made by the BBC – especially since no one has actually seen this movie yet! This could be the movie that makes Dornan into an enormous star, depending on how it fares at the box office. The latest TV commercial for it debuted during the Super Bowl, and the R rating reminds us somewhat of how different the movie may need to be from the book in order to not get a more extreme rating. Will this hurt the franchise? It really could since expectations are high for this to be like the books.
For all of those wondering about scheduling, and if that could play a role in the future of “The Fall,” a good thing to note here is that the BBC does not quite work like American TV networks. There’s no immediate need to film another season. They can always do something similar to “Sherlock,” where they decided to wait a couple of years so that the cast can go and do other things.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see what happens there, but as a Super Bowl spot, we’re not sure how effective this commercial really was for the film. Unless you already like the books or are a fan of the actors, was there any real selling point here? If you are not familiar with the books this commercial doesn’t really do anything to tell you what this film is about.
