‘Call the Midwife’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Is trouble coming for Helen George’s Trixie, Tom?

Trixie -Tonight, “Call the Midwife” showed us a story that once again featured childbirth and trauma, but also the reality of what it was like for gay men in the 1950s and early 1960s. Unfortunately, not a whole lot changed from what we saw during the days of “Downton Abbey.”

The fourth episode of the season airs next week, and it does not appear as though there are going to be stories that are anywhere close to the same depressing difficulties as what we saw this time around. With that being said, that does not necessarily mean that we are going to see characters celebrating happy times. For example, it seems as though Trixie and Tom may face some significant trouble in their relationship, not too long after they became engaged.

If you want to see some other details in terms of what to expect, then be sure to take a look at the BBC synopsis below:

“The midwives face one of their busiest nights to date, whilst Sister Winifred concentrates her efforts on the prostitutes of Poplar. Elsewhere, cracks start to appear in Trixie and Tom Hereward’s relationship.”

Let’s just hope in the end that Trixie and Tom find a way to make their relationship work. We are rooting for her, and we really have not seen her be nearly as happy with anyone else so far over the course of this series. We feel like they are just going through the same growing pains that every young couple is … at least for now.
