‘Shark Tank’ review: PhoneSoap, Victoria’s Kitchen, GreenBox, and Tycoon Real Estate
Tonight, “Shark Tank” aired a variety of different products, and many of them had a few different things going for them. However, many of them also had a flaw or two that made them a step or two from perfect. The biggest question that we are still wondering right now is simply an issue of whether or not any of these products are mainstream.Let’s be clear: There is probably not a GrooveBook in the mix here.
As always with all of our “Shark Tank” reviews, we have provided links to each one of the individual products. That way, you can purchase some of these on your own! Take a look at our quick impression of each one of them featured tonight.
Victoria’s Kitchen – A different sort of beverage, which comes from France. It actually seems like they have something that is pretty tasty! The problem here is mostly just that we don’t think the sharks really want to be in the grocery game anymore. They’ve tried it time and time again, but it is so difficult to get shelf space, and unless you are really bringing something new to the table, it’s often not worth the effort. No deal.
GreenBox – When it comes to its purpose, we like the company. It’s environmentally-friendly and it fills a need. However, we don’t see hardly anyone interested in buying this individually. It is more of a licensing deal than anything else. You have to convince a major pizza brand that this is really worth the time and extra money.
This was a perfect deal still for Kevin O’Leary, given what the guy brings to the table in terms of knowledge and skills. With him involved, they could really get some licensing money!
Tycoon Real Estate – Is there any chance that this is going to be a winning website? That is an interesting question. We weren’t as harsh on this as Mark Cuban, but we don’t understand just who would want to use something like this. If you are willing to put in the money, you probably want to do it with someone you know and are familiar with. Kevin was the only one to make an offer, and he wanted way too big of a piece of the pie.
PhoneSoap – Will this help to make your phone clean? It seems to be that way, but education is the key. The price is a little high, but these guys definitely had the right idea in going with Lori Greiner. QVC is the perfect avenue to demonstrate how this keeps your phone clean.

Mark Cuban had every right to be as harsh on this as he was. This thing was littered with red flags and sounds like SEC-bait. Barbara had it right: the ones most likely to go with this model (over, say, a REIT) are exactly the ones that shouldn’t be using it. And even if it didn’t feel scammy, how many of us have been burned by crowd-funding schemes that never delivered? Given the inherent risks of real estate, I wouldn’t be surprised if that wasn’t the outcome more often than not. Just an awful idea.

Like the phone soap concept and they have other products that catch my attention as well like the ring.
