‘Top Chef: Boston’ episode 13 preview: Melissa, Mei, Gregory try to create art
We have a first look below at one of the most important tasks on “Top Chef” this season, and it seems to be fusing both the Mexican art scene and some of the chefs’ own techniques. It’s going to be challenging, but also a heck of a lot of fun to see as a viewer. After all, wouldn’t you grow tired of this if you were watching the same thing play out over and over again?
The nature of this challenge is ultimately all about creating a dish that corresponds with what an artist is working on, and it proves to be challenging since you have to interpret, and think outside the box. Not only that, but you have to be a team leader for chefs who are no longer in the competition. We’re sure that they want to work hard to leave a good impression on America, but everyone has different training. Therefore, someone’s interpretation of a technique may be a little different.
Already, we are worried for Gregory, who is having somewhat of an issue with the cook on his protein. This is a recurring theme of sorts for him lately; despite being the one to beat in the early going, he has struggled sometimes when it comes to the details as of late.
Meanwhile, what Melissa is doing with her eggplant ravioli is really interesting. We honestly thought a month ago that she was destined to finish in fourth or fifth place, but she has changed that around in a big way by cooking really interesting food that at least appears tasty.
