‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 2: Andy Samberg’s dream ‘Parks and Recreation’ crossover
Since we do very much dare to dream, why don’t we share what we feel is some very dream-worthy news when it comes to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”? While there is no evidence just yet of Amy Poehler coming on board the Fox series for a guest-starring gig, her fellow former “Saturday Night Live” alum Andy Samberg is the star of this particular show!
Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Samberg names Poehler as his ideal guest-star for this show, but with a slight twist; instead of playing someone new, he really wants to see her come on board in her “Parks and Recreation” role:
“Parks and Rec fans’ heads might explode, and it’s pretty sacred ground, but the dream really would be for Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) to show up in Brooklyn. I don’t know if we’d have to talk to NBC about that.”
While this may sound in some ways a little bit insane, think about it. Not only are both shows produced by Universal Television, but they also share an executive producer in Michael Schur. While they have not referenced one another, it feels like they could ultimately exist within the same universe. The show would just have to figure out a way to properly incorporate it.
With all of this in mind, we’re not giving up hope that it could happen after “Parks and Recreation” ends … though it would be somewhat strange, given that “Parks and Recreation” is currently set a few years in the future.
