‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington speak out at SAG Awards

One of the nice things about the E! red-carpet pre-show for the SAG Awards this year is simple: We’re actually getting to hear from some of the TV actors! Sometimes, these red carpets are so obsessed about movie stars, we don’t get nearly as much as we want from our favorite faces within the world of our favorite medium.

Luckily, we even had some appearances from some “Game of Thrones” actors! Both Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke were present for the pre-show, and they each at least made the best of their few minutes of TV time (which we always find very awkward since so many of the questions are boring and mundane). Emilia at least had an opportunity to talk about how playing someone like Danaerys Targeryan is for her rather inspiring at times:

“She absolutely [inspires me]. It is good. It gives you so much confidence that you [get to] go out and be a complete badass.”

Meanwhile, Harrington discussed how the show did not have nearly as much trouble clearing things with HBO in production this year as they have in the past, which we suppose happens when it is revealed that you are the most-successful series in the history of the network:

“Without getting into specifics, it’s lavish this year … This year, they’re throwing money at it. They have to since it’s season 5, and we’re getting to the peak of the story.”
