‘Parenthood’ series finale spoilers: Peter Krause on expectations for ending
There are only two episodes left of NBC’s “Parenthood,” and that equals out just eight days of waiting until we’re talking about end. Right now, we feel like this will go down as one of TV’s most underrated gems, a consistently great show that only occasionally received love, and most of that consisted of one awards-show run for Monica Potter.
Peter Krause has been an instrumental part of this series since the beginning, and he is already a guy who knows a thing or two about saying goodbye to shows. He was a part of “Six Feet Under,” one of the greatest shows of the past few decades. So to follow one great show up with another is certainly a rare treat.
In reflecting on the series to TV Guide, Krause explained that he was so grateful to Jason Katims and NBC for doing this show, and has talked with his former “Sports Night” boss Aaron Sorkin about doing something new. However, he hasn’t settled on a future plan just yet.
What Krause did tell the website is that the series finale next week is probably going to be a great combination of moments you want to see, and then moments that may catch you a little bit off-guard:
“I think that the finale is predictable in the sense that life goes on … But how that’s shown and what those stories are, I think some of those things will be a surprise.”
We definitely expect tears in the finale, but above all else, we feel like it will be a love letter to the fans. There was a time when we thought there was no chance that this should would make it this far, and it has! That has to be something worth celebrating.
