‘Jane the Virgin’ episode 11 preview: Gina Rodriguez and one awkward dinner
You have to give The CW a little bit of credit right now. They are going to milk that Golden Globe win by Gina Rodriguez for everything that it’s worth! The latest promo for “Jane the Virgin” next week shows a little bit of what will be coming up for the series, and how Jane could find herself front and center for one of the most awkward dinners out there. However, at the same time it spends almost half of it reminded you that this show has serious awards-show clout … which is understandable, since Gina is awesome and the network has never been able to do this before.
This story does feel as a whole a little like it has a serious “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” vibe to it, and that adds to the level of fun in it for us. Now that we’ve said that, we just hope that the story lives up to it.
There is going to be quite a bit going on in this episode; take a look at the synopsis below for a little of what we are talking about:
“When the nuns surprise Jane (Gina Rodriguez) by offering her a permanent teaching position, she’s excited, but things become complicated when Rogelio (Jaime Camil) offers Jane a writing internship at his telenovela. Alba (Ivonne Coll) encourages Xo (Andrea Navedo) to keep the promise she made to God about Rogelio. Meanwhile, Michael (Brett Dier) is convinced of Rafael’s (Justin Baldoni) involvement with the mysterious Sin Rostro and disobeys his boss’ direct order to leave Rafael alone.”
