‘Bates Motel’ season 3 spoilers: Norma Bates has reason to be afraid
“Bates Motel” may not be premiering on A&E for at least a little while longer, but it is no understatement that there is a big season coming up little later in the spring. Just in case you wondered whether or not this was a show that was going to drift far from its “Psycho” roots, rest assured that you will get quite the clear answer and then some by the time the season comes to a close. We’re not saying that any enormous action will occur, but Norman Bates is not going to suddenly turn around and start becoming less creepy after beginning that spiral downward.
Speaking to Yahoo TV, executive producer Kerry Ehrin made it clear that we are going to see Bates become “more emotionally afraid” as time passes this season, which makes some sense given who her son is. As for whether or not she has any fault in all of this, we presume that much of that debate will depend on whether or not you hold her particularly responsible for a lot of the decisions that she made to hide Norman’s actions.
This is a unique show for us, mostly because we’re not so much excited for one event. Instead, we’re just looking forward to seeing Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga, who are both still very underrated, working a little bit of their magic again on the show.
There is no premiere date just yet, but we will be sure to let you know the moment that there is.
