‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 11 review: Is Cary Agos a free man?
Tonight’s new episode of “The Good Wife” was entitled “Hail Mary,” and from the get-go, the question here was simple: Was there a way to rescue Cary Agos from a lengthy period of time behind bars? We knew that Alicia Florrick would do everything that she could to help him, but this is not a show that just reverts back to equilibrium for no reason. It relishes for the most part in giving us consequences, and showing that there are not always happy endings with every storybook.
With that being said, Cary did still have some lifelines out in the world. specifically, he had everyone from Alicia to Diane to Kalinda, who tried to help him in more ways than one. Basically, the team manages to find a snag, and despite everyone seemingly ready to put him behind bars, we saw the case dismissed with “extreme prejudice.” The prosecution was blasted for being overzealous, and there was even an apology to boot.
So Cary is now a free man! With that in mind, isn’t everything great? Well, we wouldn’t go that far. Cary still has many issues to work through, but this at least means that he can go about a normal life again rather than spending the next few years in prison.
As a result of this, let’s just say that Alicia was in a good mood. Specifically, she planted a kiss on her campaign manager! We don’t know where that will go, but she has some other enormous priorities right now, like the upcoming debate and making sure that she is not buried because of her husband.
Just like Alicia, though, we are happy to celebrate. “The Good Wife” aired a heck of a good episode tonight, and that has us primed and ready to see where things will go from here. Grade: A-.
