‘The Americans’ season 3: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys featured in awesome new poster
The third season of “The Americans” returns to FX later this month, and if there is one way that we can describe their publicity campaign, it is by saying that the network is really hitting it out of the park.
We’ve seen the show do a great job with some promos highlighting the show, but today, we’ve got something else that is astounding: The new poster officially released by the network. We really like the visual style here, since it is emblematic of a number of different things, with the biggest one simply being the era in which the show is set. You have everything from America to Russia to numerous patriotic images in between, stamped prominently on Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys’ faces.
Now, you have to wonder the other big question of the moment, and that is whether or not this campaign is actually going to reap any major rewards for FX. This is a show that is very beloved by its devoted fans, but unfortunately, it also does not have a large-enough audience to really make a splash. This is true not only in the ratings, but also awards consideration. When you consider both the numbers and the time the show airs early in the year, it has a hard time being remembered by the majority of Emmy voters.
The date to watch out for here is Wednesday, January 28, and we’ll have much more in the way of news very soon.

I love this poster. It was beautifully done, and I would love to have a copy of it to frame and mount in my home. The FX Store does not carry it (which is surprising), and I do not know who to contact to order a print. If anyone knows, please leave a comment here with that advice. The poster is an excellent treatment, and whoever did it should pat themselves on the back. Bravo!
