Fox’s New Year’s Eve to feature Fifth Harmony, Pitbull, Fall Out Boy, more
Are you looking for an alternative from the typical and the traditional New Year’s Eve programming? Well, Pitbull hopes that you have his show over on Fox a chance. The rapper has become almost an institution at this point, with specials all across the map and countless hit songs.
So how is he feeling about fronting this show in Miami? It’s fair to say that he is excited. Speaking to Rolling Stone, he explained that his goal for his show (which airs from 8-10 p.m. Eastern, and then 11-12:30) is to make it fun, positive, and help people forget their problems just for one night:
“I’m very excited. What’s better than ringing in the new year on a positive note? Instead of the ball drop, we’ll have the ball going up. Everyone in the world will be partying, enjoying, losing their mind and escaping from all the negativity and problems in the world right now, for at least three-and-a-half hours.”
Pitbull has assembled a good lineup of performers to join him on the night, including Becky G, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, the Band Perry, and Enrique Iglesias. Basically, you have everything from pop to rock to Latin music covered with just a handful of artists.
In terms of alternatives, this show competes against Carson Daly’s own NBC program that he runs every year, the ever-popular “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” that is pretty darn predictable to watch at this point, and of course the shenanigans happening on CNN with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.
We’re going to be around all tomorrow night to ring in the New Year with you. Therefore, be on the hunt for all of our coverage and then some!
