New CBS promo highlights ‘Big Bang Theory,’ ‘NCIS,’ James Corden, more

Is 2015 going to be a huge year for CBS? If nothing else, it’s one that they feel very good about going in. They are still the most-watched network on TV, and they hold many titles: They have the most-watched and highest-rated comedy (“The Big Bang Theory”), the most-watched drama (“NCIS”), and a ton of other long-running shows like “Criminal Minds” and “Survivor” that they can count on to deliver solid ratings week in and week out.

So with all of this in mind, the network released a new promo (which you can see below) that really spends a good bit of time touting all of the network’s grand achievements. Also, it teases some of what are going to be the big ticket items to look forward to in the new year.

1. One of the biggest movers and shakers will be James Corden, who is arriving in order to host his own version of “The Late Late Show.” Anticipation is high there, and he has some great shoes to fill following the departure of Craig Ferguson at the end of this year.

2. The comedy that we’re most intrigued by is “The Odd Couple,” mostly because you have Thomas Lennon, Matthew Perry, and a series that was at one point a huge hit. Can this really be revived in the modern era? We’re at least reasonably confident in its abilities.

3. “Battle Creek.” It has “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan’s involvement, even if it is more of a David Shore series now. It is based on a concept that Gilligan first pitched long before “Breaking Bad” was a hit.
