‘Homeland’ season 5 debate: Should Carrie and Quinn get together?

For the first time in the past few weeks, we come bearing some sad news for “Homeland” fans: There is no new episode of the show airing on Sunday night. Not only that, but there is presumably no new episode of the series as a whole airing until fall 2015.

So while we wait, we hope to bring you a few debate articles to keep the discussion going. Today, we begin with what has to be one of the larger topics for any fan of the show right now: Could we end up seeing Carrie and Quinn get together at some point before the next season ends? This question comes on the heels of that kiss in the finale, and there is a case to be made for both sides.

The case for Carrie / Quinn (we’ll let you decide on the ‘shipper name) – There’s already some great chemistry, and while Quinn is flawed, we have seen enough of him now to feel pretty confident that we are not just looking at another Brody situation here where you cannot trust him completely. Also, Quinn has already seen Carrie at her worst, and he accepts and loves her regardless. Isn’t this valuable?

The case for no Carrie / Quinn – There are few male / female friendships on TV anymore that don’t have that sort of “will they or won’t they?” feeling to it. Not getting them together, and definitively closing the door on it could restore some of that feeling. Not only that, but it could allow for there to be a chance for love interests outside of the job for a change.

It’s not entirely clear if the writers even know their plans for the future just yet, given that season 5 will not really start to be planned out in full until next year.
