‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Will Kaitlyn Bristowe dance her way to the end?

Kaitlyn -We have profiled many contestants on “The Bachelor” this season, but good news: We have our first Canadian now!

Kaitlyn Bristowe, at least based on everything that we have seen and heard about her so far, seems to be a pretty fun addition to the show this season. She has energy, seemingly some memorable qualities, and is not going to be one of the contestants that we forget about in the early going. That does not mean, though, that she is going to be around forever.

Age – 29

Hometown – Vancouver, British Columbia. We don’t know if she has anything at all in common with Chris Soules, but this could be a case ultimately where opposites attract. Her being a Canadian come come to her advantage, since it is something that could immediately make her stand out.

Occupation -Dance instructor. This is also memorable! People with careers in the arts, at least so long as we’re not talking about an aspiring singer or a model, can do well on the show. Sharleen, for example, was a huge standout on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season. Also, it is one of those jobs that can be taken anywhere.

Bio highlights – ABC’s synopsis for the premiere claims that she will show up, and promptly try and teach Chris to breakdance. This should be fun. It’s another chance for her to stand out. Kaitlyn’s had a part in a video for “The Buried Life” (remember them?), but we would not exactly call it a touch of fame.

Positives – She has five tattoos, so obviously she is pretty artistic, off-beat, and adventurous. While these sort of women often do not win the show, they do tend to make it at least reasonably far. She is going to stand out early, and that could be a huge advantage that leads to a one-on-one date.

Negatives – International romances are always a little trickier, just because you have families in separate countries and it is even more travel than normal. However, that can be conquered. The biggest negative we see here is mostly that we’re talking about two very different walks of life here, and while it may be a fun experience for Chris to spend time with her, we don’t know if he will ultimately see a future here.

Prediction – Kaitlyn’s ceiling here is probably top 4, since that is where Chris will really start to realize how different the two are. We wouldn’t be shocked, either if she was a contestant who went home right before hometowns, if this sort of doubt enters his head then.
