‘Jane the Virgin’ winter finale preview: Now with a touch of Gina Rodriguez – Golden Globes love

Is there something significant coming on the winter finale for “Jane the Virgin“? Well, we at least know that Jane may be making some big decisions for her life after a past few episodes completely dominated by turmoil.

What we do know for sure is that the Golden Globes are going to need to make a big decision of their own when it comes to the show. This is the first CW series ever to earn a prestigious nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press, and this does mean great things for the rest of the network moving forward.

Do we think that the show has a real shot of winning in the end? That is a little difficult to ascertain completely, but for the time being, we do feel like it is rather unlikely. This show really has to think of this nomination as an achievement in itself, and hope that something else comes a little bit later.

As for star Gina Rodriguez, we feel like she has a little better of a chance. The Actress in a Comedy race is somewhat more open than most others, and we could see the HFPA is a group that would want to recognize a serious up-and-comer in the industry.

After the winter finale this week, new episodes of “Jane the Virgin” will pick up again in January. With this nomination in tow, we feel like the network is going to be doing what it can to ensure its future for some time.
