‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Peter Stormare confirmed to return as Vertigo
Now that his time on “The Blacklist” seems to be over, it appears as though Peter Stormare is pleased to be returning to another familiar stomping ground: “Arrow.”
According to a new report coming in this week from Entertainment Weekly, the actor is going to return as his version of the infamous drug dealer in the thirteenth installment of the series. In a statement, executive producer Marc Guggenheim had the following to day:
“It’s a thrill to have Peter Stormare return as Vertigo … When people see this episode, I think they’ll find that it’s a culmination of a lot of elements that we’ve put into place in the first 12 episodes of Season 3. For that reason, it felt appropriate to us to have Peter return since he was the villain of the episode that kicked off all of this madness. It’s also just a joy to work with him.”
Are we excited to see Vertigo back on the show? Certainly, even though it is rather strange that we have had two separate versions of the character in between this and what Seth Gabel first brought to the table on the first two seasons of the show. Ultimately, we don’t quite understand what the need really was in killing off the original Count, if you were just going to replace him with someone else.
“Arrow” returns with new episodes on Wednesday, January 21, and that is when we are going to figure out just what happened to Oliver Queen after the events of “The Climb.”
