‘Continuum’ season 4 confirmed; Rachel Nichols series to have six final episodes
For all of you who have been fretting over the future of “Continuum,” good news: The Showcase series is going to get a chance to wrap up its story as intended.
The Canadian network’s parent company Shaw Media confirmed today that there are six more episodes coming that will constitute the show’s fourth and final season, and these will air at some point in 2015. This may be a short season. This may be a short season, but we will always prefer a short final season, one that is known in advance and can be written out, than a cancellation notice at the end of a 13-episode season, where you have to shift your finale at the last second. Then again, both of these are better than an outright cancellation with no closure at all.
In a statement released today, series star Rachel Nichols had the following to say:
“All great stories deserve an end. I am excited and grateful to finish Continuum with the riveting conclusion it deserves … This series finale is dedicated to the devoted fans who have loyally supported us since day one.”
Meanwhile, Christine Shipton, Senior Vice President of Content at Shaw Media, also added the following:
“Continuum’s award-winning success on Showcase is a testament to the quality of our Canadian original productions … With Executive Producer Simon Barry at its helm, the fourth and final season of Continuum is bound to deliver a heroic conclusion to the futuristic series.”
There’s no word yet on when the final season will air in America, but a safe bet is months after it does in Canada.
