Emma Roberts trades ‘American Horror Story’ for Ryan Murphy’s ‘Scream Queens’
Is Emma Roberts’ time on “American Horror Story” coming to a close? While that may be the case, it does not appear as though she is splitting off from Ryan Murphy Productions in any shape or form.
Sources confirm that Roberts has been added officially to “Scream Queens,” the 15-episode comedy / horror hybrid from Murphy and company coming to Fox next fall. Not only that, but she is being joined by a legend in Jamie Lee Curtis, who has some times to horror herself courtesy of “Halloween.”
There are no details about either role right now being announced, but we do know that the first season of the show is going to be set around a college campus. Maybe Roberts will play a student, which would not be that far of a stretch given some of her other recent roles.
We figure that it may be possible that Emma could do this show and do an episode or two of “American Horror Story,” it’s hard to imagine her being able to be full-time on both, given that they both air and likely film around the same time. She has been a part of the past two seasons of the FX show, which may also be losing Jessica Lange following the end of this season.
This new show ensures that Ryan will continue to have a show as a part of the Fox lineup, which is probably great news for him given that we are going to be seeing the end of “Glee” next year after six seasons on the air. Murphy also has another FX show coming in “American Crime Story.”
