‘The Newsroom’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Charlie melts down and more
There are only two episodes left on HBO’s “The Newsroom” before we arrive at the end of the road, and there is just a simple phrase that we can use right now to describe what is coming up: Stuff is really about to hit the fan.
The promo below for Sunday’s episode teases a variety of different stories, with all of them having just about an equal importance.
1. Will McAvoy is behind bars. You know that this is going to be a huge problem for Jeff Daniels’ character, but that is a no-brainer. After all, this would be a big problem for everyone! He felt almost as though this entire process of doing through the system was going to be easy, but they’ve turned out to be much harder on him than expected.
2. Jim and Maggie get a break. They have been sent overseas to cover the Edward Snowden story, but what happens when there are a few developments that they do not predict? Also, what happens in the event that these two start to get a little bit closer together than they originally predicted they would be? That could be another fascinating avenue to explore here.
3. Charlie freaks out. Maybe this is about a potential sale, some of the coverage that ACN is putting on the air right now, or something else entirely. We’ve come to learn over time that when it comes to this guy, it really could be just about anything.
