‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 finale: On Emily Kinney shocker, more via Robert Kirkman
Obviously, tonight’s new episode of “The Walking Dead” was all sorts of devastating, We’ve lost another character, and that is something we are going to be dealing with for quite a while.
So what do we have to say about Emily Kinney’s departure now? Beth is dead, and this has to qualify as one of the most gut-wrenching. She had just become one of the more interesting characters on the show, only for her to be gone a mere matter of minutes later. We’re going to be taking a long time to digest it, but Kinney will be missed as a part of this show’s family.
This is something that Robert Kirkman echoed on “Talking Dead” tonight. Specifically, he made it clear that no one wanted to see Kinney go, and it is a whole lot harder with the show to eliminate people than the comics. These are people who have become a major part of your family over the years, and you form relationships with them. Kinney had become a much larger part of the show especially in the past year, as she traveled with Daryl before being kept at the hospital.
In the end, though, Kirkman reminded us that this is a crazy, violent world. The show does not kill people for the heck of it, but it makes sense that there would be some deaths here and there with this series. This is the world that we live in, and Dawn and company weren’t going to just let someone like Noah go without causing problems.
