‘Faking It’ season 2 spoilers: Expect more talk on Amy, Shane’s families
There are ten more episodes coming for “Faking It” season 2 in the spring, and with this comes a big opportunity to actually learn a little bit more about many of the characters … including in the case of many of them just where they come from.
Speaking per TVLine, show executive producer Carter Covington made it clear that exploring family life is something that we are definitely going to see over the next batch of episodes, in addition to all of the standard relationship stuff that we have come to expect from the series:
“I’m curious about Shane’s mom and dad, and I’m curious what Amy’s dad’s story is. We’re going to start expanding the world in these 10.”
Honestly, we are not always that interested in finding out about where characters come from on many of these shows, but the great thing about “Faking It” in particular is that they have done a very good job of bringing us fun, interesting parents who are not the prototypical boring ones on other teen comedies. There is fun to be had with Amy’s mom, Liam’s parents have a particular manner of acting and agenda, and we just watched Karma’s mom and dad get arrested over selling brownies with weed in them. Nobody is ordinary here.
Of course, some of other threads that you should watch out for in the new half of the season including a possible new love interest for Liam, Karma questioning the dream-within-a-dream from the fall finale, and also how Shane is going to handle Duke being out in the open, where he no longer gets to be the only one who really knows who he is.
We’ll have more news throughout this offseason, so be on the lookout for it.
