‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Former ‘NCIS,’ ‘Blue Bloods’ guest on board

HBO logoThe news right now about “True Detective” season 2 has a certain tinge of humor to it. After all, this is a show that at one point went many weeks without really announcing much of anything when it comes to news, and now, we are in a situation where they are announcing a new guest cast member almost every day.

According to Deadline, veteran actor Jon Lindstrom, who has done guest roles on “Castle,” “NCIS,” “Blue Bloods,” and many other shows over the years, has been brought on board in the role of Glenn Ellinger. He is a patrician businessman, and someone you do really not want to tangle with. There is not a whole lot more that is known about him right now, but the actor’s IMDb page lists him as appearing in two episodes. (Then again, that page also lists his character under a different name. Probably best not to trust that completely.)

The simple reason why there is so much casting news being announced right now is just that the show is getting very close to the start of its production in California. Filming is going to take place there for many months, with Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch all serving as the leads of the show for the time being. There is no confirmation right now when it comes to a premiere date, but if we had to speculate, we would say that the show is probably going to be coming back in the late summer / early fall … provided that HBO does not want to sit on the show until early next year.

There’s not enough known about this character to be thoroughly excited, but at least this is another person with serious acting chops and a resume under his belt.
