‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: ‘True Blood’ alum nabs important role
With production on “True Detective” season 2 getting closer to starting up, we are starting to find out more and more names in the cast.
Overall, it seems that the show is at least borrowing somewhat from another HBO series in “True Blood.” We recently reported that the show cast one very popular actor from a past season in an important role, and in adding to this today, Deadline claims that Riley Smith, who had a big arc on this past season of the show as Arlene’s love interest Keith, is going to appear throughout this season in the role of Steve Mercier. He is a sheriff’s deputy, and the boyfriend of Rachel McAdams’ character on the show.
These new episodes are going to be filming in California, and based on what few details are out there about this season, this is where the action moving forward is also going to be set. Taylor Kitsch, Vince Vaughn, McAdams, and Colin Farrell are considered to be the main leads for the series, and there is no official premiere date just yet. We would anticipate something in either the summer or the fall of next year, given that this show is probably still going to be filming moving into the late spring.
As soon as there are some other details on this upcoming season, we’ll of course have them for you here. The last thing that we can say for now is that expectations are of course through the roof, given that season 1 with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey was considered one of the best things on TV over the past year.
