‘NCIS: New Orleans’ spoilers: Callie Thorne of ‘Necessary Roughness’ to appear

For the first few weeks of its season, “NCIS: New Orleans” seemed to be very intent above all else on featuring stars of “NCIS.” After all, it was a great way to draw in viewers from the flagship show, and it made the bond between the two Tuesday-night shows even stronger.

Now that it has started to completely find a voice of its own, the Scott Bakula series is now getting some further guest stars completely all its own. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, former “Necessary Roughness” star Callie Thorne is set to guest-star on the CBS series as Sasha, the daughter of a mob boss who has tried to create a new reputation for herself by running a nonprofit organization. In the context of this show, she gets involved with a case where someone close to her is a suspect, and she is among those tasked with trying to solve the problem in the end alongside the team.

Thorne worked with “NCIS: New Orleans” executive producer Jeff Lieber while with the USA network series, so there is an obvious tie there that shows she should be a welcome addition. In a statement per the aforementioned website, Lieber had the following to say about the casting:

“Callie is a unique talent and a bright light as a person … Super thrilled to be reunited with her and to have her on our set.”

While it has not been a show generating a massive amount of buzz, “NCIS: New Orleans” has been a consistent Tuesday-night player on CBS, and will likely be renewed for a second season.
