‘The Flash’ spoilers: Grant Gustin on Barry Allen’s feelings for Iris, hard choices
Throughout the first season of “The Flash,” one thing has been pretty obvious about the relationship between Barry Allen and Iris West: There are some serious feelings there, at least on Barry’s side of things.
But how does Iris feel in turn? That is the mystery, and Barry’s very well aware that he is not in a real position right now where he can admit to much, given that she is with Eddie and the timing could not be any worse. Speaking in the video below, Grant Gustin explains that there is a time when these feelings are going to need to be addressed further, but right now his big fear is simply that how he feels about Iris is not going to be turned around on him.
While it is not a part of the Gustin interview, the video also teases a little bit of what we’re going to see from Barry and Eddie moving forward … including that it is very possible that Iris’ current boyfriend could be on to how he feels about her. That can’t be good, right?
Ultimately, you have to remember here just who Eddie Thawne ends up becoming in the comics, and in the event that the show goes in that direction, they would need to establish the right amount of motivation for him to hate Barry. A good bit of how that could start could be him getting something going with Iris.

Great, yet another show that feeds into the male fantasy that of they stay fixated on a girl long enough, despite her not leading him on at all, she will eventually fall in love with him.
That’s not romantic.
That’s a court case waiting to happen.
Iris West deserves better than Barry Allen. All women deserve better than Barry Allen.
They were brought up together like brother and sister. She knows him better than anybody in the world and loves him — platonically.
Having her suddenly falling in romantic/sexual love with him is disgusting.
Iris West deserves better than a geek boy male fantasy.
Goodbye Flash, I hardly knew ye.
Call me when there’s a show starring Iris, Felicity, Laurel, Thea and Caitlin. The men in Flash and Arrow are wastes of television space.

They are just adorable. Hope they get together soon. Most importantly, Barry needs to tell her he’s the flash before she finds out.
