‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: ‘True Blood,’ ‘White Queen’ alum among latest additions
As we get closer and closer to production going strong on the second season of “True Detective” in California, more and more information is consequently coming in about the latest arrivals to the show.
According to Deadline, former “True Blood” and “The White Queen” actor James Frain is one of the new faces, and will be playing the part of Jeff Hunt, a very difficult police lieutenant who does not back down. Frain has played such a variety of characters, many of them jagged and intense, that we can definitely see him taking on this role without a problem.
Meanwhile, longtime character actress Lolita Davidovich is going to play a particularly interesting character named Nancy Simpson, who is a “girly girl,” a one-time showgirl, and someone who appreciated the constant sexual attention around her when she was younger. Now, she tries in an odd way to live vicariously through her son, who she believes is the perfect man for almost any woman out there. (Oh, and she also loves to smoke and drink.)
The primary cast for this season is comprised of Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams, and Colin Farrell, and the setting is going to be California (though not the part you often seen on TV). While most of the official plot details for season 2 are still under wraps, one of the biggest slices of information available out there is that Vaughn is going to play a “career criminal” of sorts who gets mixed up with the other characters.
Personally, we feel like this show is going to come on HBO at some point in the summer / fall of next year, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
