‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Finding hope for Candice Accola – Paul Welsey fans
Is there a way that Caroline and Stefan can ever really be friends again, let alone something more? On this past episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” we saw Candice Accola’s character more or less dismissing the notion of being close to Stefan again, and she has a few good reasons to. The guy has not exactly been “friend material” as of late, moping around and trying at one point to go off and start some new life somewhere else.
The only hope that she may have right now is that with Damon back in the picture, maybe Paul Wesley’s vampire will come to his senses, and realize that being a toolbox is not conducive to having a happy life.
Tease-master Julie Plec is not saying too much about what lies ahead, but her comments to E! News on the subject of the couple should still be enough to make many of you happy:
“Caroline hoped that if Damon ever came back, she would get Stefan back too … She’s still very hurt, and he has amends to make, so we’ll see in the coming episodes whether they can find a way to repair their friendship.”
We do feel like these two characters would be very well suited as endgame at the moment, but you have to remember here in the process that this is not going to be something that happens right away. They have to work through their problems, become friends, and then (hopefully) decide if they can be something more. So far, there only somewhat-intimate moment is the scene with the towel above. Not much of anything, right?

Screw romantic Steroline! It’s pushy, annoying and completely messing up the dynamic between Stefan and Caroline that we all tuned in for.
