‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: See Robin Tunney’s Lisbon head to … prison?
November 30 marks the seventh-season premiere of “The Mentalist,” but if you love the show, we’ve got some really tremendous news for your right now about the upcoming December 7 installment: It is a chance to see the series take more of a page out of “Orange Is the New Black.”
Is it somewhat crazy to automatically compare every single “Detective / Agent Goes to Prison” episode of a show to a Netflix series? Sure, since this is a trope that has long existed in the guidebook of crime procedurals. However, we feel like that show in particular has inspired more of them, and that could include the upcoming opportunity to see Robin Tunney’s character don an orange jumpsuit.
This attached photo here comes courtesy of TVLine, and it is just a small taste of what is inevitably to come from this beloved character … who is probably in desperate need of a pick-me-up after dealing with some of these inmates. Not only is she having to work the system from within, but she’s also potentially without Jane for a little while!
There is one little scoop that we may have forgotten to mention here previously, and that is that there will be a two-week time jump between the end of season 6, and the start of this one. That has allowed Teresa and Simon Baker’s character an opportunity to at least get used to the idea of being together, but as the premiere synopsis recently detailed, they have not made the big move yet to tell anyone else at the FBI what is going on between the two of them. It’s lucky that nobody else at the airport spilled the beans on what happened.
Stay tuned; we love “The Mentalist” just as much as you do, and there will be a whole lot more in the way of updates ahead! Also, sign up today to get some further TV news from us via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via CBS.)
