‘Faking It’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Lauren, Amy battle for beauty-pageant glory
Next week, “Faking It” will return for yet another new episode, and one of the major themes seems to be divided some of the characters up, and letting them all engage in some crazy stories.
For example, Lauren and Amy are going to be competing in something that the former probably knows very well, and Karma and Liam will be taking a major step forward in their relationship. This episode is entitled “Zen and the Art of Pageantry” (a reference that we’re not entirely sure any fan of the show will get), and you can see a short synopsis below via TV Guide:
“Lauren and Amy face off in a beauty pageant; Karma brings Liam over for dinner; and Shane meets his new boyfriend’s dad.”
Relationship-wise, Karma is going to find herself in a position during this episode where she is desperate to show her boyfriend that there are no feelings for Amy that she is holding onto at all, following the trepidation that he showed in this episode. Coming clean to her parents is a big step in that direction.
Meanwhile, the Shane story may also be fairly interesting in that it presents a different and harsh reality to what the show traditionally shows. Shane’s new boyfriend isn’t hiding his sexuality because of a fear; he’s doing it because he knows that he will have a much harder time making it as an MMA fighter if anyone knows this part of him. Therefore, he has to weigh his dreams for now.
