‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Esther, Mikael not going anywhere soon
For those wondering whether or not the whole presence of Esther and Mikael on “The Originals” was meant to just be something that lasted for a few episodes or so, here is some further information to make you rethink that idea.
Speaking in a new interview with E! News, executive producer Michael Narducci notes that the plan for these two is something far more substantial than anything we’ve seen so far. Expect some flashbacks ahead, and some long-simmering secrets to finally be revealed:
“We’re going to get into a lot of stuff like the family history, who these people are, and why this family is so important, plus a little bit of the origin of Esther and Mikael … As we unpack those family secrets, in every cycle of violence there is an origin story and a beginning. The secrets buried within the secrets of this family are going to start to come out and they are fraught with the same complex conflicts that we have shown so far. There’s a lot more coming.”
We have no problem seeing so much more of these characters moving forward, though in all honesty, we are really ready to see the original actors all back, ironically, the play the Originals. For example, and no offense to Daniel Sharman, but we just picture Kol entirely as Nathaniel Buzolic. The same goes for Alice Evans as Esther. It is just so much more interesting to have the characters attached to the actors who first played them.
