‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Dracula’ alum cast for super-important role
While the folks at “Once Upon a Time” are trying to stay pretty coy when it comes to the story of the second half of the season right now, one thing remains apparent: There are going to be some very recognizable characters in the fold.
Here is what we know officially for now: “Dracula” alumni Victoria Smurfit, per a report from Entertainment Weekly, has been cast to play an “iconic” character on some upcoming episodes airing next year. The label “iconic” to us rules out that she is playing someone like Aurora’s mother or Helga, the mystery “Frozen” sister of Anna and Elsa’s mother who we first heard about on this past episode.
Ultimately, the rumor mill has been burning brought on this one, and will be for a little while based on something that was scene on the show’s set recently. We’re not going to spoil it here, but we would advise you for now to question just who among the canon of popular female Disney characters would work very well for the show, but has not been brought on already. There are only so many options out there.
More than who she plays, though, the one thing that we are really hoping here is that she is not some sometimes-evil character who secretly wants to be loved, and that she is also not a secret relative of people we already know. The series has literally done the same exact thing for the past three 11-episode arcs in regards to their characters, from Pan to Zelena to now Ingrid the Snow Queen. There are only so many times we can watch the same thing.
For now, though, share your thoughts on this casting with a comment, and head over here to further look ahead towards the future of the show! You can also sign up to get some other TV magic on everything we cover right now via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via ABC.)

Cruella is totally not a sympathetic character. She is a diva! She is basically Evil Queen Regina but without the redemption. It would be very hard to side with Cruella if she WAS semi-sweet. She is absolutely crazy and totally a different kind of cookie.

Actually, “iconic” does not rule out Aurora’s mother. As, she was the original Sleeping Beauty.
